The Ashby Wall Light is a plain alabaster cylinder set upon a short fluted brass-finish base, mounted so the stone stands upright against the wall. The stone is cut from a heavily figured block, with deep grey and violet veining running through a pale ground, and the fluting on the base gives the piece its only ornament.
The Ashby is small enough to be used in numbers. It suits a corridor, a stair, the sides of a chimney breast or a run down a landing, and its narrow projection means it sits comfortably in a passage where a wider fitting would be caught. Lit, the cylinder glows warmly and throws light both upward and downward against the wall.
Every shade is cut from natural stone, so no two are marked quite alike.
